Aimee and Ben were married on an absolutely glorious day in October. Adelaide certainly turned on the weather…it was sunny and bright, and I knew that everything would be just beautiful. I like it when I’m right!
I’ve known Aimee for about 13 years now (since she was a teenager!), and my husband and I were overjoyed when her engagement to Ben was announced. Even more exciting, was the day they asked me to photograph the wedding – I love a good wedding, and I LOVE photographing them…so to be asked to be the photographer for the wedding of someone you already have happy memories of, is indeed the icing on the proverbial wedding cake.
Ben got ready at the family home he grew up in, while Aimee prepared herself at the home they share now. When I arrived at the farm early in the day to see Ben, we took a quick drive around the property as it was going to feature later in the day. It was so lovely to be able to plan the photography around the property – it was gorgeous. Over at Aimee and Ben’s house, the girls were busy but calm when I arrived (I don’t think Aimee could have been any more relaxed!). Aimee’s dress stopped me in my tracks – it was so beautiful. When she put it on, I think everyone had goosebumps…she was exquisite.
Aimee and Ben decided to structure their day a little differently, and have a “first look” at the farm. Ben and I waited for her in a quiet, pretty little spot, and the moment he clapped eyes on his Bride was priceless. We spent some time on the farm photographing them together, before heading to Glen Ewin Estate for the ceremony and reception.
The whole day was absolutely gorgeous. The ceremony was heartfelt and beautiful, and that set the tone for the rest of the day. My husband and I were lucky enough to be guests at the reception, so after my job was done I changed into something more suitable for a party, and enjoyed celebrating with this beautiful married couple! The reception venue was so pretty with delicately made decorations for the tables. It was perfect.
Their story doesn’t finish here – I’ll be blogging about them again very soon! I can’t wait to share the next set of images too. But for now, please enjoy the beautiful Adelaide wedding of Aimee and Ben!
Aimee and Ben, thank you so much for entrusting me with your wedding photographs. What an amazing day, and I hope your wedding images can provide a flashback in time for you both, to what can only be described as one to remember. Lots of love xx
